Hyannis Port and Edgartown

Late June 2015, we arrived at Hyannis Marina in Hyannis Port.

Although we had anchored overnight at Block Island, this was our first real stop in New England. Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, although each different, have the best examples of New England seashore architecture, and beautiful wood sailboats.

Hyannis Port is the location of the Kennedy Compound and the background of the pictures of the Kennedys on vacation we have all seen for decades.

The majority of the buildings in Edgartown, on Martha's Vineyard, are wood and painted white. A number of the homes have lawns running down to the bay, and colorful flowering plants and trees, adding detail texture and brilliance to each scene.
